PHOTOGRAPHY

Johnny Foster is a Los Angeles–based photographer and filmmaker currently studying at Loyola Marymount University, one of the nation’s top film schools. His work is rooted in a deep connection to the natural world, shaped by years spent in the ocean and along the coast. Through surfing, underwater exploration, and time outdoors, Foster has developed a visual style that is both immersive and observant, focused on the quiet rhythm of wild places.
Foster’s approach to filmmaking and photography is driven by more than simply capturing beauty. He is drawn to moments that feel honest and alive, where landscape, wildlife, and human presence intersect. With an eye for detail and atmosphere, his images often emphasize stillness, scale, and the raw power of nature.
Much of Foster’s work centers on ocean stories and wildlife environments, creating a bridge between viewer and subject through intimacy and emotion. Whether documenting the movement of water, the presence of an animal, or the texture of a natural space, his goal is to create films and photographs that feel grounded, personal, and deeply connected to the world they come from.
